Used with 4D Server applications, client applications can be installed on an unlimited number of Mac and/or Windows machines. The number of machines allowed to connect to the server concurrently is limited by the number of Client Expansion licenses. These licenses are to be installed on the 4D Server.

This allows you to launch your Web server on a distinct machine, typically in a DMZ, or to execute a number of different Web applications linked to the same database. However, you must choose your option when you purchase your Web Application Expansion, as the feature activation process is not the same between 4D Server and 4D Client.
